It is time for Amazon's New World to launch, after being delayed for months, one of the biggest MMO's to hit the market in years is here, and we are pretty excited.
Are you ready to experience the next generation of gaming?
New World is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set in a supernatural, colonial America. It’s an open world where players can build their own towns and cities, form trade agreements with other settlements, fight for territory control against enemy factions or monstrous creatures, and even establish new religions. You can play on your own or join forces with friends as you explore this mysterious land of wild forests and deep swamps. With so many possibilities at hand, it’s no wonder why we call it “the ultimate sandbox MMO!”
The New World launch is only hours away, and they have organised a very nice rollout event after multiple server stress tests. New World are ensuring that everyone is coming online at the same time, with no advantages at all, even in Australia. Down here we usually get the short straw when it comes to release times, mostly at insane hours of the evening, or in the middle of a workday. They have really thought about it and ensured that each continent gets a fair time to delve in and get exploring.
The Azoth Tree also came to life.
What is the azoth tree you ask? Well, it is the heart of New World. Pretty much everything you do comes back to Azoth, being a mineral in New World that can buff your items, help you move around and much more. In Berlin, they really made it come to life on the 27th of September, creating a real-life azoth tree for everyone to view. It was also live-streamed by P4wnyhof and if you missed it, you can catch up on that stream here: Save the #AzothTree
Are you ready to explore a New World?
New World features dynamic weather, day/night cycles, and multiple ways to explore and craft. It’s not just about fighting monsters or levelling up your character – it’s also about building relationships with other players. You can choose to be a trader, farmer, bandit or soldier – it’s all up to you!
There are no defined classes in this game; instead, your role is determined by what kind of weapon style you like to play. Of course, there is the traditional; tank, damage, healing roles but what is very cool is being able to level all of these at your own discretion, but also have two of these equipped at the same time. So you can be a tank and a healer, or a healer and ranged damage. The combat system has been designed for clean action so if you like games like Skyrim then this is definitely the game for you.
New World officially takes explorers at 9pm AUS EST, September 28th.
