AEL 2021 Riverina Cup

The Australian Esports League has their next tournament coming up, and it's back in the Riverina!

The Australian Esports League (AEL) has its next tournament coming up, and once again it's in the Riverina District. In partnership with the City of Wagga Wagga, this tournament has the ability to uncover some great teams and players.

The AEL is Australia's own grass roots esports league.

An important part of Australian Esports comes from this league, hosting tournaments for clubs, high school teams and University teams. This is where our next talent is coming from and to have a platform for young and evolving teams to compete and grow is incredibly important.

The Riverina Cup

In partnership with The City of Wagga Wagga, the AEL has created an esports cup that focuses on the Riverina District. Only teams from this district are allowed to participate. This kind of initiative is an incredible way of broadening the Australian esports scope and is also a testament to the City of Wagga Wagga's forward-thinking and support of esports. The tournament will consist of Rocket League (3v3) & Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (5v5). It will be held over 4 weeks with a split of a $1400 prize pool across the two games.

Rocket League (3v3)

The Rocket League tournament is a 3 vs 3 open tournament with a $525 prize pool. Teams will be randomly placed into the group round-robin, double-elimination tournament bracket. They will battle it out over the 4 weeks to then play in the finals series.

First Place: $300

Second Place: $150

Third Place: $75

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (5v5)

The CS: GO tournament has an $875 prize pool. Similar to the Rocket League Tournament, teams will be randomly placed into the group round-robin, double-elimination tournament bracket. They will battle it out over the 4 weeks to then play in the finals series.

First Place: $500

Second Place: $250

Third Place: $125

The AEL Riverina Cup Registration is now open, it's free to enter and compete, although you must be a team from the Riverina district. The tournament is held completely online so you don't need to worry about covid! Registrations close on the 3rd of October and the tournament begins on the 9th of October. The finals will be held on the 26th of October and we will be keeping you updated here on EsportsAus along the way.
